The hydrogel dressing for wounds and burns HEALER GEL MEDICAL® is a modern medical device based on complex high-molecular compounds, including carbohydrates, protein-based substances, and a significant amount of calcium ions. The antiseptic properties of the dressing are provided by the active ingredient polyhexamethylene biguanide hydrochloride (PHMB). It is used for the protection, hydration, disinfection of acute, chronic, and infected wounds or burns, and for preventing contamination of wounds of various origins.

HEALER GEL MEDICAL® is an alcohol-free, transparent, and elastic hydrogel dressing that easily adapts to the affected skin surface. It demonstrates strong adhesion to the surrounding tissue and secondary dressing materials, and can be removed painlessly and completely during dressing changes. It acts as an effective barrier against bacteria and external contaminants, absorbs wound exudate without causing maceration, maintains a moist and cool wound environment, and facilitates oxygen diffusion. Its hydrogel properties support normal osmotic pressure in tissue cells, promote granulation, epithelialization, and autolytic wound cleansing. The moisture delivered by the hydrogel simplifies granulation and re-epithelialization, while the cooling sensation it provides helps relieve pain.

The functional excipients of the HEALER® GEL MEDICAL® hydrogel dressing offer pronounced local anti-inflammatory and wound-healing effects. They soften, nourish, and moisturize the skin, improving its elasticity.

PHMB exhibits strong bactericidal activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative, aerobic and anaerobic bacteria in both monocultures and microbial associations, including hospital strains resistant to antibiotics. The product is effective against Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Streptococcus pneumoniae, etc.) and Gram-negative bacteria (Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella spp., Neisseria gonorrhoeae), as well as herpes viruses, HIV, and others. It also has antifungal activity against ascomycetes (Aspergillus), yeast and yeast-like fungi (Candida albicans, Candida tropicalis, Candida krusei), and dermatophytes in monocultures and microbial associations, including drug-resistant fungal strains. It effectively prevents infection of wounds and burns and stimulates tissue regeneration.

Indications for Use

Acute non-infected and infected wounds: post-traumatic wounds (such as abrasions, lacerations or puncture wounds, stab-lacerated wounds, bite wounds, crush injuries), post-operative wounds. The dressing may be effectively used on all types of wound surfaces and surgical sutures.

Chronic non-infected and infected wounds: diabetic ulcers, pressure sores, trophic ulcers, external skin lesions resulting from oncological diseases, skin damage associated with eczema and neurodermatitis.

Thermal and chemical burns of degrees I–II and III.

Application Method

For optimal results, before applying the HEALER GEL MEDICAL® hydrogel dressing, the area around the wound should be carefully cleaned and treated with HEALER MEDICAL® wound irrigation and healing antiseptic solution (see separate instructions for the solution).

The size of the HEALER GEL MEDICAL® hydrogel dressing should be selected so that its edges extend 2–3 cm beyond the wound perimeter. Secure the dressing with a bandage or any other suitable dressing material.

General Safety Instructions

The hydrogel dressing should be avoided when the wound is excessively moist or produces heavy exudate. It should not be used on individuals with known hypersensitivity to any of the product’s components. Avoid contact of the gel with the mucous membranes of the eyes during use.

Composition:
Active ingredient: polyhexamethylene biguanide hydrochloride (PHMB) – 0.1%.
Excipients: dexpanthenol, polyethylene glycol, agar-agar, glycerin, polyvinylpyrrolidone, purified water.

Form of Release

The HEALER GEL MEDICAL® hydrogel dressing is manufactured in the form of a hydrogel sheet approximately 2.5 mm thick (±0.5 mm), placed in an individual blister package (corex) and a three-seam PELD (low-density polyethylene) pile-effect pouch, which protects the product from external harmful factors. The pouch is hermetically sealed.

Storage Conditions

Store in a place protected from light at a temperature between +2 °C and +35 °C.
